Community Involvement

School Site Council President-Michele Williams

Michele has been sitting on the local school site council committees for over 6 years.  2010 will be her 2nd consecutive term as President.  This committee has been challenged to find ways to fund much needed programs and tools as the school's government assistance has been severely reduced over the past few years.  Michele enjoys working with dedicated parents, teachers and staff to support the local children.

The Williams Family Supports Thunder Football

2010 will be Jason's last season playing Thunder football.  To honor the many years the Williams Family has been with Thunder they all decided to step up and get involved.  Josh is assisting the coaching staff and enjoys working with all 24 boys on their skills.  Jake and Jed have also assisted in coaching and on game day take on the rolls of announcer and chain gang.  In addition to her two year term as Chapter Secretary, Michele has been busy this year as the Jr Pee Wee Blue Team Mom.  Jadyn supports the team as an assistant water girl on game days.  A typical Williams Thunder game day starts at 6:30 am and finishes after 7:00pm.  The team is currently 6-1 and has already qualified for the playoffs.  Go Thunder!

Michele Competes in her 2nd "Tinman " Triathalon

Michele shaved over 4 minutes off her sprint triiathalon finishing 11th in her age group.  The Tinman Triathalon is a San Bernardino Rotary Club Fundraiser which raises funds for much needed school programs.  Josh joined Michele this year and finished 24th in his highly competitive age group.

Tuscany Hills Fire brings community together.

As a devastating fire reduces a local home to rubble Lake Elsinore neighbors came out to support.  With not even clothes on their backs and shoes on their feet a local family wathced their home burn.  Amidst their devastation neighbors brought comfort and aid even giving the shoes off their feet to support this family in need.  Clothes and other needed items such as dog food were carried up the hill and collected on the street corner.  While the rebuilding process is sure to take much time, with the help of friends and strangers the healing began immediately!

 Armstrong Brings Christmas

         to local boys home!

Agents came together to celebrate Christmas with displaced boys living in local homes for at-risk children.

The agents of Armstrong Realty hosted a party at their office.  Food and fun was enjoyed by all.

Each agent of the Armstrong Family provided a young man with his own stocking filled with much needed supplies and wanted goodies.

Armstrong and it's sister companies added to these overstuffed stockings by donating gift certificates to Best Buy and  local fast food restaurants.

Michele Williams through her association with the Corona/Norco Association of Realtors was able to secure a donation of a bicycle and new helmet for each of the 12 boys.   Thank you to Uta Robinson for her generous contribution!

In addition two television sets, electronic dartboards, a pool-table and air hockey table were given.

The boys ranging in ages from 10-17 have made additional requests...they are very grateful to their "new family" and some even shared their excitement of having their very first bike... one boy even expressed thanks for the first stocking he has ever had with his own name on it!

Their current wish list includes...an outdoor basketball hoop, video game machines and games, dvd's (pg or pg13).  The homes are also in need of furniture and other things that would make their house a "home".  If you have an item that you would like to donate please contact Michele Williams (at bottom of page) to arrange a pick-up.

Hopefully the giving spirit will touch these boys all year long!

              Lake Elsinore's

  Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina Lake Elsinore business owners

and residents come together to provide relief to victims of the gulf.

Rancho La Laguna residents provided items including clothing, food

toys, books, games, toilitries, blankets, diapers, baby items ...

Together the Rancho La Laguna residents contributed over 150 bags and

boxes - two truck loads were delivered to the Elsinore drop off!

The leaders of the Elsinore Collection were overwhelmed by community

participation. Several trucks, trailers, and rigs were filled to capacity!

Donations collected at Storm Stadium and the Four Corners drop

off were driven to Louisiana just after the holiday weekend.

Special thanks to all who were involved.  Organizers of the event

from Insanity Tatoo thanked many community members for their support!
